Reef Labs Accelerator Program

Founders' Roundtable: We hosted the Founders' Roundtable for the Reef Labs $10M Accelerator Program Cohort 1 projects. This vibrant session, titled “The Secret Sauce for Supercharging Web3 Communities,” aimed at bringing together the leaders from AlterVerse, Petobots, dot.GAMING Studio, Astra, Plena Finance, and Rariko. wowTalkies on Reef: In a strategic move, wowTalkies, a decentralized fan engagement platform, announced its integration into the Reef Chain. From leveraging NFTs to nurturing a vibrant fan ecosystem, the development aimed at fostering a creative and collaborative ecosystem for fan communities. Launch of Reef DC University: September saw the launch of Reef DC University, pioneering a renaissance in Web3 learning. From real-world case studies, innovative assignments, competition, and hackathons, Reef DCU promises a transformative educational experience. Lecture TownHall: An exciting journey into the world of Web3 began with the Lecture TownHall at Reef DCU. A series of sessions is to be hosted in this Lecture TownHall on blockchain architecture, encryption models, DAOs, and more to empower the club members with deep knowledge of the industry.
Orientation and First Lecture at Reef DCU: A successful Orientation was held to introduce club members to Reef DCU structure and Lecture TownHall sessions. Over 40 members joined the Orientation, followed by the first Lecture Town Hall session on Blockchain Architecture from around the world to make these sessions a great success. Concluding Reef Season of Docs

Celebrating the success of RSoD with great participation from the club members, we announced the club's top performers for adding significant value to the #ReefDC community. Check out the star performers’ points on the leaderboard.

Technical Insights & Innovations

BABE Protocol: We explored the intricate workings of the BABE (Blind Assignment for Blockchain Extension) Protocol. BABE meticulously assigns block production slots using Verifiable Random Functions (VRF) to maintain fairness and bolster security. It balances both private and public randomness, uses GRANDPA (GHOST-based Recursive Ancestor Deriving Prefix Agreement), and the longest chain selection, maintaining a robust ecosystem. Proof of Commitment (PoC): Unveiling the Proof of Commitment (PoC) Consensus mechanism, we shed light on the processes by which PoC elects Technical Council members and the significance of the bonding period. This mechanism showcases Reef’s commitment to creating an ecosystem where technical governance is transparent, competent, and aligned with the community's best interests.
