Every milestone represented progress, and we're proud of what the Reef community has accomplished together.
But progress alone isn't enough. We've been competing in a space where the winners have already been decided.
Let's be real: Ethereum has won the institutional battle. Between regulatory clarity, $166 billion in TVL, and 50+ major enterprises building on it, that position is secure. Solana has captured retail with memecoins and payment infrastructure. These aren't battles we need to fight.
The question we faced at the end of 2025 was simple: do we keep competing in crowded spaces, or do we build something the market actually needs?
We chose to build.

Let's be real: Ethereum has won the institutional battle. Between regulatory clarity, $166 billion in TVL, and 50+ major enterprises building on it, that position is secure. Solana has captured retail with memecoins and payment infrastructure. These aren't battles we need to fight.
The question we faced at the end of 2025 was simple: do we keep competing in crowded spaces, or do we build something the market actually needs?
We chose to build.
There are millions of people globally who don't qualify as accredited investors but want access to real assets. Not memecoins. Not speculation. Real ownership in things they understand and believe in:
Real estate equity (actual property ownership, not REITs)
Sports club equity (ownership stakes, not fan engagement tokens)
Private credit opportunities for retail investors
Agricultural assets and alternative investments
Collectibles and passion assets
These people exist in a gap between institutional chains and retail speculation chains. No blockchain has been purpose-built for them.
The next era for Reef puts this in focus: building a tokenized equity platform.
This isn't just positioning. These projects are already being built.
StagTower is tokenizing Canadian rental apartment buildings, creating accessible real estate ownership for European retail investors. Target: $25 million in TVL within three years.
Casa Panenka is crowdfunding and tokenizing the acquisition of a football club, with on-chain voting and actual ownership rights. Not fan tokens—equity.
Lionvest (formerly CropCrypt) is tokenizing agricultural produce, allowing investors to directly fund verified farmers through on-chain assets. Target: $2 million TVL in 3 years.
These aren't hypotheticals. They're live initiatives proving that people want ownership, not engagement metrics.
Reef will offer something unique: compliance-ready infrastructure without being the issuer.
We won't issue securities ourselves. We will provide the rails that make securities issuance easier, safer, and more accessible for everyone else. Throughout 2026, we're implementing native support for ERC3643—the TREX standard for compliant tokenized securities—giving projects built on Reef:
On-chain identity registries
KYC/AML verification hooks
Transfer restrictions by jurisdiction and investor type
Compliance modules for maximum holders, lock-up periods, and regulatory requirements
Agent roles for issuers, validators, and recovery
Other chains offer general infrastructure, or solely permissioned access. Reef will offer infrastructure built specifically for the regulatory and technical requirements of tokenized equity.
Project Deep Current forms the foundation, upgrading our Parity/Polkadot SDK base layer and Ethereum VM so developers can use existing tools and users can use the wallets they already prefer.
From there, we're launching:
ERC3643 support
ERC3643 reference implementations
Partnerships with KYC providers for seamless identity verification
Redesigned developer documentation focused on compliance-ready RWA deployment
Forked versions of proven DeFi protocols optimized for Reef
aguaviva labs, our in-house investment arm to support and incubate projects
New developer onboarding programs
Completely redesigned website, mobile app, and web applications
By the end of 2026, our goal is 25,000 daily active users generating 25,000-35,000 daily transactions, with $25-40 million in TVL and at least 40 high-quality projects deployed on Reef.
We're also exploring Nigeria as a longer-term opportunity, along with other western Africa nations. Zone has proven that blockchain can work for regulated finance in Africa, processing over ₦1 trillion with a 99.99% success rate. What they've proven for payments, Reef can enable for asset tokenization, creating cross-border RWA corridors and enabling diaspora investment in Nigerian property and assets.
This isn't a quick win, but it's a massive long-term opportunity aligned with our mission.
We're not fighting with Chiliz over fan tokens. We're not competing with Avalanche for enterprise subnets. Our moat is deal flow, partnerships, and a focused technical stack purpose-built for tokenized equity.
We have projects. We have builders. We have a clear technical roadmap. And we have a market that desperately needs what we're creating.
Throughout 2026, you'll see Reef transform from a general-purpose layer 1 into the default choice for alternative asset tokenization. New partnerships. New projects. New infrastructure. And a clear, compelling narrative: Reef becomes a tokenized equity chain.
